CHRYSLER REJECTED BY THE PUBLIC

The Chrysler Group’s sales to retail customers have dropped by over 44 percent so far in 2010, according to figures released by Edmunds.com, an auto industry tracking site.

American carbuyers have basically rejected the Dodge, Jeep, and Chrysler brands. According to certain estimates, Chrysler dropped to seventh in U.S. sales in February. Chrysler was once in the top three automakers in the U.S.

Why Should I wash my car after a rain?

Washing your car after a rain is one of the most critical times to wash your vehicle, according to the International Carwash Association.  Rain and snow contain dirt and pollutants from the air (commonly referred to as acid rain) and it can eat away at the finish of your car.  After the water evaporates, it leaves a film of acid.  Add sunlight to this mixture and the acid can become so strong that it will eat through your car's finish.

Clay Bar your Car before you wax it, Smooth as a baby!

A car clay bar is an essential car detailing tool that targets the common enemy of every car finish: pollution that causes automotive paint contamination.  It relentlessly pursues your car from the second it leaves the factory until your car meets its ultimate demise.  It's in the air we breathe, it's on the roads we drive, and it attaches to your car's paint, where it bonds and begins a process of oxidation. Take a piece of plastic foil like that of a cigarette box and put it on your fingers and rub your cars finish on the spot you clay bared and then on the spot without. You can feel the contaminates. When contaminants get a solid grip on your car's paint, washing alone may not be enough to remove them.  Pre-wax cleaners also may not be able to exfoliate large particles.  In this case, you have two choices: use a polishing compound, which removes a lot of paint material, or use a clay bar.  A clay bar isn't a polish or a compound, it is a surface preparation bar that smoothes the paint and exfoliates contaminants. THEN put a nice coat of wax on the finish to protect your $3000 (repaint cost) painted car.

ELHART'S HAPPY TOWN USA rated #2 By "USA Today"

Boulder, CO293,161 127 174 10
Holland-Grand Haven, MI 260,36423 31150 1

"Most of our highest-scoring cities are found out West and most of our lowest-scoring cities are in the South," says research director Dan Witters. Wealthier communities typically score higher.

Residents of large cities — those with a population of 1 million or more — generally report higher levels of well-being and more optimism about the future than those in small or medium-sized cities. In small cities, at 250,000 or less, people are more likely to feel safe walking alone at night and have enough money for housing.

The study provides a city-by-city portrait of the nation's mood and a potential tool for policymakers.

Nine of the 10 cities that fare best on "life evaluation," assessments of life now and expectations in five years, boast a major university, a big military installation or a state Capitol — institutions that presumably provide some insulation from recession.

Overall, the top 10 cities include four in California, two in Utah and one each in Colorado and Hawaii. Of them, only the Holland, Mich., and Washington, D.C., metro areas are located in the Eastern or Central time zones.

Many of the bottom 10 are in economically embattled regions. Three are in the Alleghenies and three in the Rust Belt. Only Shreveport, La., and Modesto, Calif., are west of the Mississippi.

Boulder's setting, including a greenbelt of public lands around the city, may help explain its top ranking, Mayor Susan Osborne says. "We tend to have lots of opportunities for being outside," she says. The jobless rate is 5.7%, below the nation's 9.7%.

In his annual "state of the city" address Saturday, Huntington Mayor Kim Wolfe said budget cuts and layoffs were needed for his city to deal with the economic downturn. The city's jobless rate is 7.8%.

There are some places where people seem naturally upbeat. Baton Rouge is 44th overall, but in "life evaluation," the Mississippi River city is first.
